                                                             Friendship

Friendship is one of the greatest pleasures that people can enjoy． It is very difficult to find a better definition of friendship． A true friend does indeed find pleasure in our joy and share sorrow in our grief． In time of trial， he or she is always at our side to give us his or her help and comfort．
    Knowing how valuable friendship is， we should be very careful in our choice of a friend． We must choose someone who has a good character， whose activities are good and who shows kindness of heart． We should avoid those shallow people who are easily changed by adversities or misfortune．
      A true friend can always be trusted， loved and respected． If you tell a friend your secrets， he or she won’t tell anyone else． Friends share each other’s joys and sorrows． They help each other when they are in trouble， and cheer each other up when they are sad． The most important thing is that a friend always understands you． In conclusion， when you have made a good friend， don’t forget him or her．

Boys and girls

Every one of us is thinking about our future. What is mine, you may guess? Does it sound strange to you if I say I’m going to be a teacher?

    I had this dream ever since I was only a child. I still want to be a teacher as my profession because I love children and I love teaching.  I don’t think it a waste of time to work with children, as some people say.  On the contrary it’s a job that needs courage, imagination, and creation.

My Grandfather

My grandfather was a teacher.  He was the headmaster of a school for boys between the ages of thirteen and eighteen.  I know he was a kind-hearted man because when I was young he gave me presents and told me stories.  But the boys at his school were afraid of him. 

     At school, when he walked into a room full of noisy boys, there was silence (安静) at once.  When he looked at a boy, the boy's face turned red and looked down at his shoes.  If a boy brought him poor work that was not the best that boy could do, my grandfather picked up the boy's book and threw it across the room, shouting, "Do it all again, and bring it back first thing in the morning!" If the boy was late, or if he forget to bring the work, he had to do it again, and again, and yet again. My grandfather never forgot.

Now, there are seven people in my family, grandpa, father, mother, elder brother, two little brothers and I.  My grandpa, a very kind man, is a farmer who is about 85 years old. I love him very much. My father used to be a primary school teacher for thirty-five years, now he’s retired and stays at home.  My mother is a farmer, she is a very kind and warm-hearted woman, who loves us dearly, and we also love her. My elder brother who is studying in Ningxia University will graduate this summer. My two little brothers are also students who are studying in Haiyuan Middle School. One is going to take the entrance examination in June and the other has to stay there for a few years, he is a very lovely boy.

We often play together and help each other with our studies.  It is really a pleasant thing to stay together with them.  And it always feels great to be home with all my family.
