M: Oh! It’s five o’clock. I’m late.

W: Well, when are you going to Christina’s to discuss about the party?

W: May I go to the chemistry lab?

M: What for?

W: I Want to do that experiment once again.

W: This bus goes to the hospital, doesn’t it?

M: Yes, it does.

W: When shall I get off?

M: At Fourth Street.

W: Why so early?

M: Early? It’s 3 o’clock now. School starts at 8:45 in the morning and ends at 3 in the afternoon..

W: In my country, we go to school from 8 a .m . until 5 p . m.

M: Gosh!

W: You seem to have a lot of work at your office. You’re always staying late and working overtime.

M: That’s true, but I think the work is interesting and fun. I don’t mind the extra hours at all.

M: Thank you very much, Miss Stevens. That helps me a lot.

W: I’m glad it could be some help, Carlos. Let me know if you have any more questions later.

M: I will. And thank you for giving up your coffee break to help. I know you need one after teaching three classes.

W: Oh, I don’t mind. Teaching is what I love most.

M: Well. Good-bye and thanks again.

W: You’re very welcome, Carlos. See you in class Monday.

W: Is that woman Miss Smith?

M: I’ve no idea.

W: Can you guess how old she is?

M: I really don’t know. She must be around forty, judging by her looks.

W: Do you think she’s English?

M: Sorry, I really can’t tell. Why are you so interested in her?

W: Someone said she’s going to teach us conversation.

W: Lovely weather?

M: Yes, it’s really warm.

W: I’ve seen you before, haven’t I?

M: Well, you may have done. I’ve been her once or twice, for a walk in this quiet park. Do you live near here?

W: Yes, I live in one of those flates over there. What about you?

M: Oh, I’m staying with a family down near the station.

W: Are you on holiday?

M: Well,… er … I’m here to improve my English. I’m from Greece, you see.

W: I didn’t think you were English, but your English is very good.

M: Thank you very much.

A professor recently made several tests with different animals to find out which was the cleverest. He found out that the monkey was the cleverer than any other animal.

In one test the professor put a monkey in a room where there were several small boxes. Some boxes were inside other boxes. One small box had some food inside it. The professor wanted to watch the monkey and to find out how long it would take the monkey to find the food. The professor left the room. He waited a few minutes outside the door. Then he got down on his knees and put his eyes to the keyhole. What did he see? To his surprise, he found himself looking into the eye of the monkey. The monkey was on the other side of the door and looked at the professor through the keyhole.
