At the Canteen(小卖部)
(Peggy meets Susan at the canteen in the school. They are talking about their diet.)
Susan: Wow! You sure aren't eating much!
Peggy: I'm on a diet(减肥) . I know your lunch isn't very big, either.
Susan: Well, I'm always on a diet.
Peggy: This is my first time in this cafeteria(自助餐厅) . It seems better than the one in the dormitory .
Susan: They usually have a lot of seafood dishes. But it's more expensive here.
Peggy: And they have a lot of desserts(餐后甜点).
Susan: So it's maybe worse for us, is it right?
Peggy: Maybe. But I'll come here when my diet is finished.
Susan: And eat cheesecake(烙饼) and chocolate(巧克力) cake. Then you'll have to go on another diet!
Peggy: Life is hard when you want to be beautiful.
Susan: Hah!

In the Gym(体育馆)
Phillip: What? Why are you here?
Bruce: I came to lift weights(举重).
Phillip: I never saw you lift weights before.
Bruce: That's because I usually go biking(骑自行车) for exercise. But weight-lifting is good, too.
Phillip: I come here three times a week. And twice a week I go to my karate(空手道) class.
Bruce: Whoah! Karate ? Are you a blackbelt(黑带) ?
Phillip: Not yet.
Bruce: What's the best machine for building up my biceps(二头肌) ?
Phillip: Building them up? It looks to me like you don't even have any biceps!
Bruce: Hey, give me a break! Of course I do.

Where Is the English Class?
Joan: Where's the English class?
Paulo: On the first floor. Room 101.
Joan: Are you sure?
Paulo: No, I...
Joan: Look, Paulo. Are those students in our class?
Paulo: Maybe they are.
Excuse me. Good evening. Are you in English 3?
Students: Yes, we are.
Paulo: What's the room number?
Student 1: 201. On the second floor.
Paulo: Thank you. See you there.

During the Break
(During the break, Liu Dong and Kate are talking about school life.)
Kate: How many days a week do you come to school?
Liu Dong: Five, from Monday to Friday.
Kate: Can you tell me something about school life?
Liu Dong: Yes. School starts at half past seven. A lot of students come to school by bike. But some come here by bus. There’s a bike shed(车棚) near the school gate.
Kate: Do you have four classes in the morning?
Liu Dong: Yes, we do. And there’s ten-minute break between two classes.
Kate: When do you do morning exercises?
Liu Dong: During the long break. That’s between the second and third classes. It’s twenty minutes.
Kate: Do most students have lunch at school?
Liu Dong: Yes, our dining-room is large and the food is very delicious. We like it very much.
Kate: How many classes do you have in the afternoon?
Liu Dong; Usually two, but sometimes three. School finishes at about half past four.
Kate: What do you do after school?
Liu Dong: Sometimes we do sports, and sometimes go to school clubs(俱乐部).
Kate: What about your homework?
Liu Dong: Oh, we usually have a lot of homework to do. It often takes me two hours to finish it.
Kate: What! Two hours? Oh, it’s too long!

Lucy: Hey, put that down !
Ron: Huh? Why should I?
Lucy: It's not your instrument(乐器) . You shouldn't....
Ron: Sorry! I used to play the saxophone(萨克斯风) . It's my favorite jazz(爵士) instrument. I'm not going to break it!
Lucy: Well, still, you have to be careful.
Ron: So, you play the violin(小提琴). Anything else?
Lucy: I play the piano(钢琴), of course.
Ron: Of course?
Lucy: Well, I'm a music major(主修课). Most majors play the piano.
Ron: As for me, I played drums(鼓), guitar(吉他), flute(长笛) , oboe(双簧管) , tuba(大号) and saxophone.
Lucy: I don't believe(相信) you.
