Asking the Way
Allan is a new student come from a faraway(遥远的) school. She is going to have a new lesson in the library building. Now she meets Lily at the corner of the dining room.
Allan: Hey, Lily!
Lily: Hi, Allan! What's up?
Allan: My 1:00 class is in the library building. Do you know where that is?
Lily: Yes. Don't you have your map of campus(校园)?
Allan: No, I forgot to bring it today.
Lily: Well, the library building is at the top of the hill(山顶) .
Lily: It's over there, near the Science building. Do you know where that is?
Allan: Yes.
Lily: I'm going to the Languages building at 1:00, so I will be close to there.
Allan: Great! We can walk up the hill together(一起).
Lily: If you want, I'll meet you at 12:45 beside the playground.

In the Classroom
Sandy: Why are you so happy today?
Katy: This is my favorite class.
Sandy: Oh, I know. You just like the teacher. You think she's hot(热情的).
Katy: Well... You're right.
Sandy: Hah! You even admit(承认) it!
Katy: And her wardrobe(衣装) isn't bad, either.
Sandy: You like her short skirts, huh? She dresses like she's going dancing.
Katy: The only problem is that girl over there.
Sandy: Which one?
Katy: That one. There. She always sits between the teacher and me. I don't like to look at her.
Sandy: She comes early.

In the Library(图书馆)
(James is looking for some book in the library. Erik, the assistant of the library comes over and wants to give him some help.)
Erik: What's wrong?
James: I need to borrow books about "Romeo and Juliet"(罗密欧与朱丽叶).
Erik: So?
James: They're all gone.
Erik: Hmm.. Maybe your classmates have them.
James: I know.
Erik: If you want to use them now, you can recall(取回) them.
James: But it won't work.
Erik: Why not?
James: I’m going to hand in my paper next week. Recalling the books is too slow.
Erik: Next time you need to borrow books earlier.
James: I know. I was too stupid(笨).

In the Dormitory(宿舍)
(It’s 10:30 at night. After finishing his homework, David returned the notebook to Becky in their dormitory.)
David: Here are your notes. Thanks for lending(借) them to me.
Becky: I hope they were useful to you.
David: Hmm... your handwriting(字迹) is too sloppy(潦草) .
Becky: Oh, I didn't care about that.
David: I couldn't really read a lot of them.
Becky: Well, I wrote a lot of notes, but I wrote quickly.
David: Thanks for your help, I know I won't do well on this exam.
Becky: Why not?
David: I'm just not too good with my English. I can't understand it clearly.
Becky: That's all right. Maybe most students feel the same way.
David: But not you, Becky. You're a genius(天才) !
Becky: Well. Maybe I'm just interested(感兴趣) in English. So I can follow the lectures(课程) more easily.
David: You're lucky.

In the Laboratory(实验室)
Vicky and Jimmy are doing some experiments(实验) in the laboratory. Jimmy sees Vicky’s schoolbag is near the fire(火炉).
Jimmy: Hey, your schoolbag is too close to the fire!
Vicky: Oh, yes. I guess you're right.
( Now Jimmy sees some steam(蒸气) rising from the pan.)
Jimmy: Hmm.... I think we should take the cover(盖子) off now.
Vicky: No, the teacher said we should wait until the solution(溶液) is purple.
Jimmy: Mmm.... I thought he wanted us to take the cover off after two minutes.
Vicky: I don't think that's right.
Jimmy: Well, it's been almost four minutes now. What's wrong?
Vicky: Watch it! It is bubbling(起泡) .
Jimmy: Ahhh!
Vicky: Cool(真酷)! Are you all right?
Jimmy: What do you mean "cool"?! I have solution all over my shirt!
