Unit four I like Green Lesson One

This lesson covers “Let’s song”, Let’s play games and Activity 3 on P18 (Activity book)

教学目标:Hopefully the pupils will be able to:

       ☺ sing the rainbow song with actions.

       ☺ follow the teacher’s instructions

       ☺ understand the meaning of the key vocabulary and imitate t the pronunciation.

       ☺ enjoy the games and activities.

教学重点、难点:Vocabulary:

             Productive: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red,

             Receptive: colour, rainbow, up, down.

            Structure and phrase:

            Productive: words and chunks in the song.

            Receptive: instructions in “Let’s move”.

教学媒体:a picture or a photo of a rainbow. 

          colour cards, word cards.

          coloured flags.

          crayons, a hand-made rainbow.

          tape and recorder.

          Ask the children to bring their crayons for activity 3.

教学步骤:

Activity 1:

Sing the number song with actions.

Activity 2: “Let’s Sing”

1.     Show the children the hand-made rainbow; introduce the children to the topic by telling them that they are going to sing a new song about “rainbow”.

Talk about it by asking what it is, where they can see it, etc.

2.     Introduce the children to the key vocabulary of colour, e.g. purple, clue, green, yellow, orange, red. Show the colour cards in turns, simultaneously model the pronunciation. Stick them on the board. Point to them one by one; invite the children to join in buy imitating. Check pronunciation carefully.

3.     Play a TPR game with the colour flags (see let’s move). Get equal (six maximum) number of pupils from the four teams to the front of the classroom in turns, give them the colour flags, ask them to listen to the teacher’s instructions and raise the relevant flags according to what they hear. Teacher demonstrates first.

4.     Play the tape; ask the children to listen and stick the word cards along side the colour cards accordingly. Listen again, point to the words simultaneously.

5.     Lead the children by singing one verse by one verse. 

Alternative: invite the children to join in singing with actions.wh4em joining in the actions, divide the children into different color group, each group holds up the colour flags or cards when the relevant word occurs.

6.     The children sing the song on their own. The teacher supports where necessary.

7.     The children sing the song in different rounds.

Add variation so that the children’s attention will be kept.

 Activity 3: Get the children to do activity 3, ask them to colour the flags.

 Activity 4: Elicit from the children what they have learnt today. Remind them to sing the song to their parents.
