Enjoying World –famous Poems and Songs for Unit 4
WHEN you are old By W.B Yeats
WHEN you are old and gray and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

Down by the Salley Gardens作者: Yeats
Down by the Salley Gardens My love and I did meet She passed the Salley Gardens With little snow-white feet She bid me take love easy As the leaves grow on the tree But I being young and foolish With her did not agree In a field by the river My love and I did stand And on my leaning shoulder She laid her snow-white hand She bid me take life easy As the grass grows on the weirs But I was young and foolish And now am full of tears Down by the Salley Gardens My love and I did meet She passed the Salley Gardens With little snow-white feet She bid me take love easy As the leaves grow on the tree But I being young and foolish With her did not agree
But I was young and foolish And now am full of tears

A Red,Red Rose By Robert Burns
O my luve is like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June;
O my luve is like the melodie That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair thou art, my bonie lass, So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still , my dear, While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve, And fare thee weel a while;
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile!

啊,我的爱人象一朵红红的玫瑰,在六月里含苞待放;
再见吧,我唯一的爱人,再见吧,让我们小别片刻;
Right here waiting By:Richard Marx
Oceans apart day after day And I slowly go insane I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain If I see you next to never How can we say forever
Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you
I took for granted, all the times That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears\ But I can't get near you now
Oh, can't you see it baby You've got me going crazy
Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you
I wonder how we can survive this romance
But in the end if I'm with you I'll take the chance
Oh, can't you see it baby You've got me going crazy
Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you

Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)

How Do I Love Thee?
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints -- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! -- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
