“That” 用 法 拾 零
 
在英语中，that是使用频率最高的单词之一，掌握它的用法，对提高我们灵活运用英语很有帮助。
一、that 做形容词，意思是“那、那个”：
He was not at home that day. This classroom is larger that than one.
二、that 做指示代词，意思是“那、那个”：
Who is that? After that he left. What was that (which) he said?
三、that 做关系代词，引导定语从句，同时在从句中做主语、宾语等：
This is the best film that I have seen. He is the only one among us that knows German. This book contains much that is useful. Is this the book that you are looking for
四、that 做关系副词，相当与 when，引导英语从句：
I still remember the day that he was born. We left the day that he arrived.
五、that 做连词，引导名词性从句，that 在从句中不做成分：
It is certain that he will come. I know that he is a good student. The trouble is that we haven’t enough time. He made a suggestion that we should go there at once.
六、that 做连词， 引导状语从句，表示“原因、目的、结果”等：
Not that I’m not willing to go with you, but that I’m busy now. Speak louder (so) that all of us can hear you. What have I done that you are so angry with me?
七、that 做副词，意思是“那样、那么”：
Can you jump that high? I can’t walk that far. The weather isn’t that cold.
八、that 做连词，用于“It’s…that…”强调句型中：
It was he that cleaned the classroom yesterday. Is that because of the rain that he was late for school yesterday?
