19日，北京院线方面透露，2D版《阿凡达》将在本周末停映。据说一部分原因是由于讲述中国古代哲学家孔子生平的史诗电影《孔子》将于周四公映，此举是为了保护本土电影不受这部热门大片的冲击。

在上面的报道中，homegrown film就是“本土电影”，也就是国产电影。Homegrown指“本地或本国出产的”，例如：homegrown tomatoes（本地产的西红柿）。另外，homegrown还可以指“有本地特色的，土生土长的”，例如：homegrown literature（乡土文学）。
