The "illegal cooking oil" is usually made from discarded kitchen waste that has been refined, the report said, adding that the oil, which contains a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance called "aflatoxin", can cause cancer.

该报告称，“地沟油”通常使用餐厨垃圾提炼而成，成分中含有的黄曲霉素毒性很强，可致癌。

文中的illegal cooking oil就是指“地沟油”，也称为swill-cooked dirty oil，指的是从kitchen waste（餐厨垃圾）中提炼出的油，含有大量有害毒性物质。使用illegal cooking oil已成为餐饮行业的open secret（公开的秘密）。国家药监局近日发布紧急通知，要求严防“地沟油”流入餐饮服务环节，对于违反单位，情节严重的将吊销其餐饮服务许可证。

此外，我国还将继续推进食品安全整顿工作，杜绝各类危害人民健康的问题出现，例如pesticide residues（农药残留），以及illegal food additives（非法食品添加剂）等。只有切实解决food safety（食品安全）方面的各种问题，才能使大家在餐桌上吃得放心。
