台资企业富士康本周又有一位员工跳楼自杀，从今年1月至今，富士康已有八起员工跳楼自杀事件。对此富士康老板的处理方法居然是请五台山高僧来做法事驱邪。

在上面的报道中，conduct a religious rite即“做法事”，而dispel misfortune就是“驱邪”。富士康请来五台山的eminent monks（高僧）来release the six souls from suffering（超度死去的六人的灵魂）。

中国古代有很多关于鬼神的迷信，认为人死后有灵魂，要走road to hell（黄泉路），过一座abyss bridge（奈何桥），在过了奈何桥后会看见karma stone（三生石），还要喝the soup of forgetfulness（孟婆汤），准备get into the cycle of reincarnation（投胎转世）。
