从9月1日起，北京市将在部分法院试行民商事案件“远程视频庭审”工作。据介绍，“远程视频庭审”目前将主要适用于民商事案件的上诉案件，将来条件成熟时，将有望扩大到审判的其他领域。届时，在远郊区县的部分当事人将可以免受到市区中院开庭的奔波之苦。

Several courts in Beijing will begin using remote video links for judicial hearings on Sept 1 after a two-month pilot project in suburban courts, according to Beijing Higher People's Court on Tuesday.

北京市高级人民法院本周二宣布，经过郊区法院两个月的试运行之后，北京市将从9月1日起在部分法院实行“远程视频庭审”。

上文中的remote video links for judicial hearings就是“远程视频庭审”，也可以用remote video hearing来表示。这是一种computer-aided simultaneous hearings（计算机辅助的同步庭审）形式，利用audio-visual systems（音视频系统）让位于不同地点的工作人员同时参与庭审。

“远程视频庭审”的所有程序与普通庭审相同，可以实现案件审理过程instant conversation(即时对话)、presentation of evidence(证据演示)及printing of litigation document(文书打印)。
