7月1日是加拿大国庆日，也是上海世博会加拿大国家馆日。为了增加馆日的节日气氛，加拿大馆内还会免费提供为小朋友在脸上画有趣的图案。馆内两名“货真价实”的加拿大皇家骑警也会与观众进行互动。

值得一提的是，加拿大皇家骑警队的两名骑警现身加拿大国家馆迎接游客。这两名骑警代表被认为是加拿大的象征，很受游客欢迎。

文中的mounted police就是指“骑警”，也就是骑马进行巡逻，执行任务的警察。Royal Canadian Mounted Police（加拿大皇家骑警，简称RCMP）既是加拿大的Federal Police（联邦警察），也为全加拿大提供National Police Service（国民警察服务）。我国目前只有大连有女子骑警队。

Mount做动词可以表示“骑马”，mounted soldier就是我们所说的“骑兵”，也称为cavalry。有趣的是，在埃及，骑警骑的可不是马，而是骆驼。另外mount还可以表示“山峰”，例如世界最高峰Mount Qomolangma（珠穆朗玛峰）。

加拿大国庆日还称为Canada Day（加拿大日），为每年的7月1日。此外，加拿大还有Country Of Maple Leaves（枫叶之国）的美誉。
