西昌卫星发射中心10月1日宣布，“嫦娥二号”卫星准确入轨，发射圆满成功。“嫦娥二号”卫星是中国自主研制的第2颗月球探测卫星，继2007年“嫦娥一号”一举实现中华民族千年奔月梦想之后，“嫦娥二号”的成功发射，标志着中国探月工程又向前迈出重要一步。

我国上周五成功发射第二颗无人探月卫星，标志着我国的探月工程三期总体规划进入第二期，最终将实现月球软着陆。

文中的lunar probe就是指“探月卫星”，也就是“月球探测卫星”，“探月工程”也就称为lunar probe program。此次发射的“嫦娥二号”（Chang'e-2）在发射升空后，还成功进行了orbit corrections （变轨，或称为trajectory correction）。

Lunar在这里指“月球的，月亮的”，我们传统上使用的“阴历”就称为lunar calendar，与“阳历”、“阴历”对应的月份则称为solar month和lunar month。Lunar eclipse则是指天文现象“月食”。Probe在这里指unmanned space probe（不载人的航天探测器，宇宙探测航天器）。
