几组易混代词辨析 — it, one, that

    在英语中为了避免上下文重复，常使用it, one, that代替上文所出现过的名词，但它们的用法不同。
    (1) it代替上文所出现过的单数可数名词，指“同名同物”，表示“特指”。例如：
    I was disappointed with the film. I had expected it to be much better. 这部电影令我很失望。我原来料想它要比这精彩得多。
    Yesterday I bought a computer. It cost me eight thousand yuan. 昨天我买了台电脑。它花去我八千元。
    另外，it还可代替前面提到过的事物或整个句子。例如：
    Tom's mother kept telling him that he should work harder but it didn't help. 汤姆的母亲不停地告诉他应该努力学习，但这并没有起作用。
    (2) one代替上文所出现过的可数名词，指“同名异物”，表示“泛指”。例如：
    How many glasses are there? Is there one for each guest? 有多少杯子? 每位客人都有一个吗？
    Meeting my uncle after all these years was an unforgettable moment, one I will always treasure. 过了好多年后见到了我叔叔真是一个令人难忘的时刻，一个我永远都会珍惜的时刻。
    (3) that既可代替上文所出现过的单数可数名词，也可代替不可数名词，表示“特指”。如果代替上文所出现过的复数可数名词，要使用those。例如：
    This story is much more interesting than that of last week. 这个故事比你上周的那个有趣得多。
    The cost of the air fare is higher than that of the rail fare. 飞机票价高于火车票价。
    These modern buildings are more beautiful than those built in the old times. 这些现代建筑物比古代的建筑物漂亮。
