8月2日，国家文物局局长单霁翔在人民网做“文化遗产：让生活更美好”的演讲时指出，国内一些城市建设与发展中存在大拆大建、盲目效仿、浪费资源等八大误区。他认为目前旧城改造存在的问题是把千百年积淀的深厚文化底蕴的旧城，仅仅定位于改造的对象，而没有强调它需要保护、需要有机更新的一面。
